hostess with the mostess

christmas is coming, we are getting fat,

would you please put a penny in the old man's hat.

or better yet, in my hat so that i can afford to buy more christmas presents!

so, here's the question of the day:

what will y'all be bringing as hostess gifts to holiday parties/dinners/get togethers? normally, one would bring a bottle of wine, but seeing how our house does not imbibe, that is not an option for us.

candles? chocolates? stationary? a book? any good websites for ideas? throw me a bone here people!
also, these pics are from this weekend. we visited a revolutionary war era cemetary downtown. have i mentioned recently that savannah is a FANTASTIC place to visit?

i feel like i needed to redeem myself from the awful "mom jeans" picture!

Yes, yes I need ideas too! I need ideas for those pesky neighborhood gifts. Please help!!!
For a hostess gift, maybe a small house plant? flowers? fancy chocolates? I want to go to a holiday party!

Heidi I tagged you. Just go to my blog, copy and paste/put your own stuff in. I've never been to a "real" Christmas party before, so I have no real ideas. I did go to an ornament exchange party, so maybe a cute little ornament?

Awesome cemetery!
You look like a model!
I think an ornament or candle is a good idea. I wouldn't do anything edible just cause you get so much "junk" food over the holidays.

I am Natalie's good friend and love checking her friend's blogs. I noticed on your blog a while ago that you moved to and then left Savannah, GA. :) We have a possible opportunity to move there in the next few months and I was wondering if you would volunteer your brutally honest opinion of Savannah, surrounding cities, where to live, not to live, etc? If you have some time, I would really appreciate your thoughts! jejensen03@comcast.net

Thank you!
