holy fudge

christmas means one thing to me. FUDGE. i love it. while it tastes good year round, it tastes so much better in late november, early december while you are watching mr krueger's christmas with your family, laughing at the costumes and the dancing and weeping at mr krueger's loneliness. but, good fudge takes an enormous amount of work and patience. work i can do but my patience is reserved for the kiddies. a few years back i discovered this gem of a recipe. great, easy delicious fudge a la heidi:
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 ounces milk chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
splash of vanilla
hunk of butter(optional)

directions- melt all ingredients in microwave. stir. pour in 9x9 pan. chill in fridge. lick spoon and bowl. smile with gluttony.

this plate was full last night. we are happy little pigs at the simpson house.

Have you tried the recipe on the Marshmellow Creme container? I've found that one is pretty full proof and mighty tasty. I'm not picky though.

Ooo...YUM! We actually have a peppermint fudge tradition at our house (we invented the recipe, which includes crushed candy cane pieces). The good news for me is I'm in charge of packaging and cutifying, while the Mr. does the cooking! The bad news for both of us is that we mail the treat to 40 people!!!!

Oh shoot. Now I'm all stressed out! LOL

yum! I love fudge, too! I always make the Marshmallow Creme recipe, too. That recipe uses evaporated milk instead of sweetened condensed milk (which I did not notice until AFTER I had finished making the fudge-- it's been a long time since I made it-- it tasted fine but it was gritty)

I'm so excited to try this recipe. So much for my shrinking pants (which aren't shrinking at all by the way) I WANT FUDGE! Thanks for supporting my need for fudge fast.
