in my mind, i had been planning on several different ideas about what to blog about for national blog till you puke month, which i have obviously been participating in. i had been contemplating a post about what modern convenience you can't live without. well, i know firsthand, what TWO modern conveniences i can't live without. drumroll........microwave and hairdryer. last night our microwave went kaput and this morning our hairdryer went the way of the world. a technological double whammy! i didn't realize till about lunch today what a huge deal this is until i went to make lunch with air-dried, puffy, triangular shaped hair. most of my quick lunch ideas, corndogs, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and pizza bites wouldn't work without a microwave. sure, those lunch items can be made with the oven, but i don't think the boss man(reagan) wanted to wait that long. what a trying life i lead! bad hair and a cold lunch! thank goodness for ben franklin harnessing electricity!
now my question is, what can you not live without? and you can't say family, scriptures, and goody goody answers like that. let's get shallow, imagine life without indoor plumbing and flat irons!!!

Let's give it up for Air Conditioning! I used to be pretty cold-natured, but after two pregnancies I'm almost always warm borderline hot. Even right now that the weather has turned cold. I could NOT live without AC. Come to think of it, I'm not sure how we did it Summer of 2001. I sweat just thinking of it!
No way I could live without my laptop or ESPN.
i have this theory that the small appliances companies out there make all their small appliances have a life span of 5-6 years. every small appliance we have gotten for our wedding (iron, microwave, blender,13 inch tv, vaccuum) have all broken in the past 2 years. which makes it pretty expensive replacing a bunch of $30 + items all at the same time. i'm finding that all these small appliances are essential, and i can't live without them!
Chapstick. I can't last two hours without it. And lotion, can't wash your hands without lotion available as a follow up. Of course, plumbing and AC and now I really appreciate the heater since it is getting cold, oh and a washing machine and a dryer. It is hard enough to do laundry with them. And light bulbs. And my Macbook. And my dog. :)
my car, a washer and dryer, a vacuum, finger nail clippers, and cleaning supplies. The list could go on and on though.
What? No pictures of the air-dried, puffy, triangular shaped hair? Aw Man!
I could not live without my high speed internet and my dishwasher!
