bowchickawowow

last night i washed el presidente's heavy winter coat. this morning i took it out of the dryer and it put on him before leaving for the gym. i dropped the kids off in childcare and thought nothing of it when reagan wanted to continue to wear his coat while he was playing with the other kids. this is not unusual for him; it is a great coat. i had an excellent workout and i was able to enjoy the fantastically vacuous new show on the style network called "running in heels". it is pure cat fights and other drivel in the fashion world so you know it is destined to become a new favorite. after running i finished up by stretching and chit chatting with my geriatric boyfriends tom and dick. afterwards, i checked the kids out of childcare and we drove home. as i was removing el presidente's coat, i noticed something small, black and satin stuck to the velcro square at his collar. upon further examination it was definitely something small, black and satin....and personal. it was an item of clothing that doesn't get worn very often around these parts. it was not a quilt square. it was not a hankerchief. not a scarf either. and it was not a bra. if you were one of the childcare workers, would you have pointed this very visible item out to me or would you have just rolled with it?

Oh Heidi - I love your posts. I'm laughing hard over here! The workers were probably having a good laugh and didn't want to point it out....

I bet you $ that those childcare workers took pics with the coat on their cellphone and that it's all over myspace / U Tube by now. So funny!

or perhaps they didn't even notice as you did not until you started taking it off...

did you notice any strange looks from them?

How old are they? I definitely would have pointed it out, but a few years ago, I might not have.
So funny!

THAT IS AWESOME! One of my favorite posts! You gotta ask the workers about it tomorrow!

I totally would NOT have pointed it out! And I definitely wouldn't have touched it. Then what? Put it in a plastic baggie or paper bag and then hand it to you when you came to pick the kiddos up? How's that for awkward?

No way Jose, I would've done exactly what they did - nada.

PS-Why are you washing that item with Reagan's winter coat? Isn't one a delicate and one a heavy wash? Oh Heidi, I've laughed writing this entire comment. I love you!

Heidi!! I was totally going to write on your facebook wall about Running in Heels. I DVRed the show and while I was watching it I totally tought of you. Isn't Ashley horrible?! Regarding the little black item-I echo Natalie's thought about the wash and no I would have not said I thing as I laughed about it behind your back.

Oh boy. My eyes are watering. Partly from laughing and partly from embarrassment.

nat and paula-
i don't know how my delicate item even got into the washer. that is usually reserved for handwashing. perhaps i was careless. or scarlett was helping as she is apt to do.
paula-ashley is horrible. she's just jealous because she is not as pretty as those other girls. that's what matters right?

I have to clarify that I wrote one of these comments, not my brother Elder Jenkins. I was updating my brother's blog. :)

Still chuckling about this post though.

I reveled in your humiliation entirely too much while reading that! But hey....there are worse places that could happen, like at church-or while having the missionaries over for dinner.....:) the possibilities are endless!

lol. I'd think I'd say something if I noticed before you left.
