ocean not included

all outing plans were canceled today when i looked out the window and saw this: it may not look like much, but the street was pretty much a solid sheet of ice. and those bits of snow in the grass? more chunks of ice. snow is not soft and fluffy in mizzou, it is hard and crunchy. 13 degrees is not pretty.

what's a mama to do? crank up the heat, pull out the summer clothes, paint my toenails and have a BEACH PAR-TAY IN THE BASEMENT.

pale winter skin was exposed...

trashy beach novels were read...
scrumptious summer food was consumed...
color drenched espadrilles were brought out of hiding(but legs weren't shaved)...

faux shell earrings were worn...

and fun was had by all!

scarlett is SO cute...look at her sitting up!!! Nice idea...we've pretty much stayed inside all day too. Good thing my valentines day flowers are still alive to make things in the house a little less gloomy!

What a great idea! How do you manage to look so cute all the time anyway?! I don't miss the Missouri crunchy/snow/ice. But I am also tired of the Utah fluffy snow too, I just want some SUN! And a beach party...I'll be over soon!

How fun! You have to do something fun to forget about how awful Missouri winters are.

Wow scarlett is growing up so fast! I can't believe she is sitting up already! What an advanced child...but what can you expect from her gene pool?! I don't envy the snow and ice. OK Martha Stewart, what a fun beach party!

What a fun idea! Now, if you were in Savannah still you wouldn't have to pretend. And you've an ocean.

This was such a cute idea, I will start looking at your blog more often to see how to be a more creative, fun mom. I hope Thomas liked the bubblebath wallpaper!
