1. make scarlett and me wear coordinating outfits. i still have flashbacks of puffy black gauze and hot pink sparkles and polka dots on early 90s style drop waist easter dresses that i wore when i was 11 and my sister was 7. but as i recall my mom said she got a "really good deal" on them. i think i've already used that line too much with scarlett(and thomas). yikes bikes :
*please note reagan's hand on scarlett's head. it's like he can't help himself. he's addicted to touching her head.
2. let my kid run around with no pants(or a really boogery nose and her brother's socks):
*it's a double threat, red lights and no pants. i'm sure there's a joke in that somewhere.

heidi...really and truly, you need to become a writer of books or a newspaper column. you are way to witty to keep it to yourself and your blog readers!
Yes, I'm with you on anything but white lights. When I was in jr high, I found a string of red chili pepper lights in the basement and put them on my headboard. That lasted all of one night because it felt like I was sleeping in HELL.
I know for a fact that I wore matching dresses with my sisters for a long time. And to make it worse, I'm the youngest of three and so I had the "privilege" of wearing the same dress for years after that.
I agree, you SHOULD become a writer!
P.S. What's with all the labels in your house? Is there a post that I missed or something??
A Satan Tree. The hand on Scarlett's head.
This was an excellently funny post.
Carie will be so proud of number one and horrified by number three.
And guess what? Still think you're hilarious.
i have so missed your blog while being out of town. this is super funny. and i vouch for the fact that reagan's hand is ALWAYS on scarlett's head. hahaha
I can't believe you swore you'd never do the matching/coordinating outfits! That just shocks me with your keen sense of style! You two always look super cute when you're coordinating. It's like Scarlett is your living accessory! :)
And you're a better person than me....I did rearrange most of the ornaments the kids put on. It was just killing me.
Funny post, Heidi! Your Satan tree is quite hilarious!
i needed the laugh heidi. love you and your satan tree.
heidi, just wanted to say--you always, ALWAYS crack me up. like BIG TIME. thanks for your card game suggestion.
i think you and i would be inseparable bff's in real life.
It's only bad if you wear matching dresses. Coordinating color schemes are okay but only if it's around a holiday. I didn't think you got anywhere near matching. You can't be faulted for both wearing gray black and red in December. And no I will not be wearing hot pink and black with my girls. Once they hit teenagerdom matching must be avoided as if your relationship depends on it. Because it does.
