scarlett admiring her balloons in her redneck sleepwear.
of course, we had to have a party. scarlett was very insistent on this. everyone 1 year old needs a bunch of adult fawning over her and telling her how precious she is. how is she supposed to be a proper child-beauty queen without loyal subjects?
this is how our guests were greeted:
i love this picture of scarlett and my dad. we are so grateful to have him around. scarlett and reagan love grandpa.
reagan was about to die from excitement when we lit the candles on the birthday cake.
the cake: i had a REALLY REALLY clever slogan to go on the cake, but thomas vetoed it because of some damning languge.
scarlett's little cake with the one-eyed smiley face. is this an omen for the year??? pirates will be attacking us?
scarlett has developed some mean basketball skills. she can't stand to sit idly by while reagan shoots all the hoops.
i don't know if this sign will ever come down.

I would leave that sign up if I were you, but that is just me...how fun!
what adorable photos and that baby is to die for--
btw, scarlett is one of my very favorite baby names--our youngest (mia) was maybe gonna be a scarlett, but when she came out we knew what her name was......good stuff. good party. good times!
Wow. I can't believe it's been a year already. Her eyes have gotten very light and she is too cute. Any teeth yet? Lydia is about to be 10 months and she doesn't have any yet. I am very impressed with the signs, especially the banner. Very martha stewart indeed.
I love the cake! And I love the sign, you should leave it up for sure, what a good mom you are!
Um, OK, she is adorable. She is Beck through-and-through. Love your sign over the fireplace. And I love the picture of Reagan looking at the cake...you can feel his excitement coming off the screen! And that was a great picture of Scarlett and your dad.
Looks like Scarlett had a great birthday!! I love the sign over the fireplace!! Too cute!!
Consider me a loyal subject to Scarlett!! I loved the cute little polks dot dress! And as soon as I saw the candles on the cake I knew that Reagan was in Seventh heaven!!!
Holla!
Happy Birthday Scarlett! The pictures of her are so cute especially the one with the adorable sign over the fireplace. I loved her one eye cake. Next year for my birthday I want my very own cake. Why is this tradition only reserved for the first birthday? Live it up Scarlett while you can. :-)
Happy Birthday to Scarlett! Its cazy to me that she is already 1! It would be so great to see you guys! We should for sure get together, and reminisce about sweet home Alabama :) Keep us up to date on your plans!

Wait, aren't you going to tell us the clever slogan?!? C'mon, don't leave us hanging!
And happy one year to Scarlett - I thought about her on Saturday. All day I kept thinking, "Today's the 28th, I wonder if the Simpsons are having a big party?" I should have known... :-)
